01 The work
Is this therapy?
No. This is coaching, not therapy, and it is not medicine or psychological treatment. Coaching works on habits, discipline and the life you are building. Some men do both, and that is fine.
Do I have to be at rock bottom?
No. Most men come at the crossroads, when the outside still looks right and the inside does not. Wherever you are at, the work meets you there.
How do I know if I need this?
If the outside looks right and the inside does not, that is the sign. A good job, a good marriage, a few good habits, and a private fight nobody knows about. Sleep that does not rest you. A fuse that keeps getting shorter. Those can also have a medical cause. If they have run for weeks, see your doctor first. Coaching sits alongside that, not instead of it. You do not have to be at rock bottom, and most men are not. Read the free Beginner Guide. It is a mirror, not a manual. Then decide, or ask Tyson. He tells you honestly whether this fits.
I have a good life. Why do I feel empty?
Tyson's answer: because a highly capable man has been silenced. Buried under expectations, vices, distractions, and noise. Deep down you already know he exists. You can feel him. That is exactly why you have spent years feeling restless, anxious, and angry. If it has lasted more than a few weeks, see your doctor as well. This work does not treat you as broken. You are raw material, and the work is to reveal the man who was always there.
Who is this for?
Mostly men between thirty-five and fifty-five. A good job, a good marriage, a few good habits, and a private fight nobody knows about. If the outside looks right and the inside does not, this is for you.
What does the work actually involve?
Weekly sessions across five dimensions: Body, Mind, Heart, Soul, and your tribe. Training, habits, honest conversations, and real accountability from a man who has been through it.
What does a men's coach actually do?
Not a guru. Not a motivational speaker. A man who has been through the fire, came out the other side, and stands in front of you while you do the same work. In practice that is weekly sessions across five dimensions: Body, Mind, Heart, Soul, and your tribe. Training, habits, honest conversations, and real accountability. The plan follows your life. The standard does not move.
What does Forged. Not Fixed. mean?
A blacksmith does not create steel. He reveals it. The work is the same. You are not broken and getting repaired. You are being tested, shaped, and readied. The man this work is after is the one who was always there.
Who is Tyson?
The founder, and the blacksmith. He lost everything, rebuilt his life on discipline, and started MIND System by telling the truth to one man at a time. His full story is on the founder page.

Is the Group a circle where I have to share everything?
No. The Brotherhood is men doing work side by side, not a confession circle. You share what you choose. Most men find that standing at the fire with other men makes the sharing easy.
What does a month in the Group look like?
One Group session a week with the same small brotherhood of men, plus 1-on-1 time with Tyson every month. In between, the actual work: training, sleep, habits, and the conversations at home you have been putting off.
How big is the Group?
Small on purpose. The same men every week, few enough that nobody hides in the back and nobody gets carried.
Ask him what the next group looks like.

How is 1-on-1 different from the Group?
It is the most direct version of the work. Three sessions a week with Tyson, built around your life and your history. The Group gives you brothers beside you. 1-on-1 gives you the full fire.
Do I need to be in shape to start?
No. Strength is built in the work, not required at the door. The training meets your body where it is, and the rest of the work does the same. If you are carrying an injury, a diagnosis or a medication list, get cleared by your doctor first and tell Tyson what they said.
Ask him what the first month looks like.

What is the difference between a coach and a therapist?
A therapist is a regulated health professional who can assess and treat mental health conditions. A coach is not one, and coaching is not health care. Coaching works on habits, discipline and the life you are building. Plenty of men do both at the same time. If something you are carrying needs treatment, a therapist is the right person for that part of it.
Is coaching regulated in Canada?
No. Coach, counsellor and nutritionist are not protected titles, so anyone can use them. Psychotherapist, psychologist and dietitian are protected, and those roles answer to a college with a complaints process. That means the checking is yours to do. Ask any coach what he is trained in and where his work stops, and listen to how fast he answers.
Is coaching covered by insurance or a health plan?
Assume not. Coaching is not a regulated health service, so insurers and provincial plans do not pay for it. A private health spending account is the one place that sometimes differs, so check your own plan. Therapy with a registered provider often is covered, at least in part. Coverage changes what each option really costs you.
What is a midlife crisis, and is it a real diagnosis?
It is not a diagnosis. No medical manual lists it. It is the name people give to a stretch of years when the answers that used to work stop working. The job still pays and stops meaning anything. The house runs quiet. The body starts arguing back. If low mood, broken sleep or a short fuse have run most days for weeks, see your doctor first, because those can have a medical cause. Coaching sits alongside that, not instead of it.
What actually happens in a coaching session?
You talk, he listens, and then you both decide what changes this week. A session usually opens with what actually happened since the last one, the honest version, not the summary. Then the work in front of you: training, sleep, the conversation at home you keep putting off. You leave with one or two things to do, not twelve.
How long do men usually work with a coach?
Months, not weeks. Changing a habit is slower than deciding to change it, and the second month is where most men find that out. How long your own work runs is part of the initial consultation, not a number anyone can hand you before it.
Do I need a coach, or do I just need a better routine?
Try the routine first. If you can set a standard and hold it on your own, do that and keep your money. Most men who reach out have already tried, more than once, and the routine held until life turned. That is the part a coach is actually for. Not the plan, the turn.

What happens when I reach out to Tyson?
A real conversation. You book the initial consultation and tell him where you are, he tells you honestly whether this work fits, and you decide. No script, no pressure.
How much does it cost?
Your initial consultation with Tyson is $250. If you join a program, $100 of it comes off the price. Program pricing is part of that conversation. Tyson tells you honestly what fits your situation.
Where is this?
Wherever you are. MIND System is Canadian owned and operated, and the work happens in person or online, so where you live does not decide anything. Book the initial consultation and tell Tyson where you are.
I am worried about a man in my life. Can I set this up for him?
You cannot do the work for him, and pushing rarely lands. What you can do is send him this site or one podcast episode, and let him come to it when he is ready. Men hand this work to men they care about, and that is how most of them arrive. If he is in danger tonight, call or text 9-8-8, Canada's suicide crisis helpline, free, any hour.
What if tonight is heavier than a coaching page?
Then this page is not the tool, and that is okay. Call or text 9-8-8, Canada's suicide crisis helpline. It answers any hour and it is free. The coaching conversation will still be here when you are safe.
Does Tyson speak at companies?
Yes. Keynotes and workplace sessions on the private weight high performers carry. The speaking page has the shape of it.
The honest version of every answer is one message away.
What all of it is for.
Have the conversation.
One call. You bring where you are. Tyson brings where the work leads. Whole, in every area of your life. That is the point of all of it.
Your initial consultation with Tyson is $250. If you join a program, $100 of it comes off the price. Once the call is done, Tyson builds your personalized dashboard with a plan of action. Tyson replies himself, usually within a day.
